4 Reasons Why Everyone Should Box

#1 It Burns ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Boxing is a great form of high-intensity interval training (HIIT).  Since most boxing rounds include periods of both maximum effort and active recovery, this means that as the workout intensity increases, your body would typically require more energy than aerobic metabolism can provide.  So, unlike running at a steady pace, boxing burns more calories in less time.

#2 It Relieves Stress ๐Ÿ’†๐Ÿ’†๐Ÿ’†

Nothing feels better than hitting the bag after a long day at work. We have a tip. Just imagine your boss ๐ŸŒš IS the bag. ๐Ÿ˜‚ It'll make you hit that much harder! Think of it this way; boxing kills two birds with one stone. It's a fun and effective outlet for you to get rid of your stress and is also a great form of exercise. You'll walk out of class feeling fit and less stressed. ๐Ÿ‘Š

#3 It Gets Your Heart Pumpin' ๐Ÿ’“๐Ÿ’“๐Ÿ’“

Most people perceive going for a run, swimming or spinning as the only few ways to gain effective cardio training. Well, MYTH BUSTED!  Boxing is guaranteed to keep you panting and desperately in need of rehydration. In other words, a high intensity boxing session will exert a moderate amount of stress on your heart and lungs to push them to work harder, allowing you to burn those calories and enhance your blood circulation. If this is a new realisation for you, itโ€™s never too late to rethink cardio and inject some variation to your next workout!

#4 It's SO. MUCH. FUN ๐Ÿ’ƒ ๐Ÿ‘ฏ

Last but not least, if thereโ€™s one word Iโ€™d use to describe boxing, itโ€™d have to be: FUN!

I am well aware that there are many out there like me, who at best only tolerate the idea of exercising. But fret not, I speak from experience when I say that our boxing-inspired classes are a far cry from what we had to withstand in physical education classes growing up.

During our classes, you'll spend half the time punching it out and half the time doing a variety of different exercises on the floor. We keep things exciting and new, keep the lights low and the music loud.  At the end of every session, you can be assured of obtaining an endorphin high โ€“ something those P.E. classes were never able to help us achieve.

For those whoโ€™ve yet to give it a go, come try punching it out with us and witness for yourself how the fun never fades!

Box Office: Pre-Production

Itโ€™s Friday! And we have a little story for you. Letโ€™s call it โ€œBox Office: Pre-Productionโ€๐ŸŽฌ..

Iโ€™m Nerissa Assudani and thatโ€™s Abel Koh. Abel has always LOVED working out. As for me? Letโ€™s just say that my emotions towards exercising lay on the OPPOSITE end of the love-hate spectrum. ๐Ÿ˜‚ This dissonance led us to want to find something that we would both enjoy and do together.

My criteria was that the workout had to be SUPER fun while Abelโ€™s was that it had to be SUPER effective. We visited loads of gyms and studios and found that there are so many amazing ones in Singapore!! So many that I absolutely adore and some that Abel loves, (I even brought him to Barre with me!!) but we just couldn't find something we both loved.

That's when we realised there was a gap in the market we wanted to fill. We travelled to the US, the UK, France and China and visited all the boutique gyms so we could get inspired and learn from incredible trainers from these countries. ๐Ÿ‹๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‹๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‹๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‹๐Ÿป

We came back home with everything we learned and started on "Box Office: Production". (That story, however, is for another day!!)

We're so happy and proud that we have accomplished what we set out to achieve. We are now both ACE certified fitness trainers and our classes at Box Office are REALLY FUN and also SUPER effective!! (Come try it. You'll ache for days! The good kind of ache.) If you haven't already figured it out, what I'm trying to say is that we are suitable for everyone and anyone. Whichever end of the spectrum you lie on, we promise you'll have the best time! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

See you really soon and Happy Friday!
